7 Ways to Reuse Your Old Candle Jars
We’re all about sustainability and repurposing. Our luxurious black jars were designed with repurposing in mind. We wanted the jars to extend beyond their candle phase and believe they are the perfect vessel for so many household things. So grab your jar, clean it out (full how-to on how to do this here) and let’s get started!
1. We love a #plantparent
If you’re anything like me and have 1 too many plants in your home, candle jars make the best containers. Make sure to choose a plant that doesn’t need a drainage hole and doesn’t mind sitting in water – succulents are great! The black jar makes for a stunning contrast to the greenery if I do say so myself.
2. Pinterest perfect desk
I’m forever on a quest to have a picture perfect desk. One thing I do love is my candle jar turned pen holder. It’s large enough that it holds a great amount of pens, highlighters, liquid paper, pencils, scissors and more. It’s also black so hides the pen marks that usually develop over time and looks sleek and modern.
3. Sugar, spice and everything nice
Because our jars come with a matching black lid, they actually make a great spice container. I put sugar in mine and placed it near my coffee machine. It’s made to resist heat I wasn’t worried about having it too close to anything hot. You can pop any of your kitchen spices in there too.
4. Gotta catch em all
I recently started placing an empty jar on top of my bathroom vanity and it worked great as a catch-all. I usually have my hair up in a mum bun and I found it’s a great place to pop my hair ties, jewellery, bits and pieces I find in my pockets and other things before jumping in the shower. It keeps it all neat and tidy stops me from losing anything.
5. You can call me Master Chef
I’ve always cooked but never really took much interest in it other than for its sole purpose of ‘well, I have to feed my family.’ However, recently I’ve really taken to it and love to experiment, create and immerse myself in the experience. As part of this, I found these jars make excellent mini herb gardens! I planted coriander, parsley and red chilli and love that it’s right inside my kitchen and they look so stylish instead of in those basic plastic pots.
6. Material girls
Probably the most common use of candle jars but still a goody – bathroom accessories. I’ve put cotton buds, hair ties, lipgloss, tampons and more in them. They’re great because the jars are black so if you have something in them that you don’t necessarily want to display then just pop the lid on and no one will know. I also got fancy and threw some labels on them to become that ultimate organisational queen.
7. Regift, regift, regift
There may come a time when you have more jars than what you know to do with. Why not regift them? The jars make great gift boxes! They’re big enough you can put gift card, cash or their fav sweets, pop the lid on and a ribbon around it.
